Sanni Vanttaja is a visual artist born and living in Helsinki. Vanttaja’s work is especially focused on art that is based on line; drawing, printmaking and text. She often combines visual art and poetry in her work. The line is full of surprises and potential; both images and words can be formed out of it, but still they share the same basis. Printmaking, drawing and writing offer a vast and constantly fascinating field in which to examine the birth of marks and formation of different worlds. 

 

Vanttaja has studied fine art education at the University of Lapland, and graduated in 2019. Since her graduation she has worked as a full-time visual artist. Vanttaja has held several solo exhibitions and taken part in group exhibitions in Finland and abroad. 

 

Vanttaja works daily at her studio in Vallila, Helsinki. She is a member of The Association of Finnish Printmakers and Helsinki Artists’ Association.
